I qualified as a CBT therapist back in 2012 and was keen to start a small private practice to supplement the small number of hours I’d secured working in a GP practice.
Back then it was relatively easy to be found by prospective clients. I decided upon my practice name, set up a Facebook page and even built my own website on yell. And sure enough, clients began to trickle in.
Whilst I was delighted and grateful to be getting clients, it came at a cost.
I was:
Seeing clients at times that suited them but not me or my family
Kicking my husband and two small children out of the house at all hours to accommodate appointments in my home office
Saying YES to every single client enquiry, even if it felt ‘off’
Charging a rate lower than everyone in my area to try and attract more clients
Having no clear cancellation or no-show policy, leaving me regularly out of pocket
Over the last 5 years, I have been on such a journey learning how to not only place much greater value on the work I do as a therapist but also learn all I can about how to get my services found by my dream clients.
I knew how to help people, but I hadn’t a clue how to:
• Build a website
• Connect with my ideal audience
• Find my brand messaging
• Be a copywriter
• Be a social media manager
• Or an email marketer
But I’ve learnt all these things….and made many mistakes along the way!
And now I want to help you build and grow the practice of your dreams, without repeating all my mistakes.
